About Donations
Information for walkers, sponsors, businesses or anyone interested in making donations regarding our 2012 Out of The Darkness Community Walk:
Donations for 2011 can be accepted and credited to the AFSP up until Dec. 31, 2011; donations for 2012 begin on Jan 1, 2012.
REMEMBER:
- All checks should be made out to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (in the memo note “Hampton Roads").
- Donations can also be made by credit card at the AFSP website. Please click here.
- The AFSP is a non-profit organization under Section 501©(3) of the IRS Code, so all donations are tax deductible.
- Nearly 84 cents of every dollar goes directly to AFSP's programs of research, education, and treatment.
- Turn in your donations when you check-in on the morning of the Walk or send directly to: AFSP (120 Wall St., 22nd. Floor, New York, New York 10005).
- Donations for the 2011 Walk can be sent in until 12/31/11.
- As a gesture of appreciation, if you raise $150 or more, you will be given a free Out of the Darkness Community Walk T-shirt; you can pick this up at the Walk when you turn in your money at the Registration Table on the day of the Walk.
